A Slip Cover for Me

What I'm wearing today. I finally finished it just in time to link up with The Pleated Poppy's What I Wore Wednesday...  

I've been working on this sweater for over a year. Don't worry, I took many many breaks. Believe it or not, the part that took the longest was the sleeves. I know there really aren't any sleeves... But, I had initially intended to make long sleeves with a flair at the wrist. After much trial and error, I finally concluded that a sleeveless sweater would be best. And the coolest part about a no-sleeve sweater is its versatility. I can layer it with a long-sleeved colored shirt when the weather gets a little chilly, or just go sleeveless in the sun.  

 So cozy and soft. This is the first item I've made for my own selfish pleasure in quite a long time... Kinda feels like my birthday. 

I only wish I had better photos to share. I did the best I could with the evening lighting and no tripod. Hopefully you get the general idea.

Granny or Not

I've been feeling a bit granny-like lately. Thankfully minus the aches and pains. Allow me to explain. It is Friday night and I plan to cozy up with a blanket and some tea, take out my new store-bought floss, and indulge myself in the art of embroidery. And I'm thoroughly excited about it. Call me Granny Courtney if you wish... Although I sincerely hope I'm not the only 27-year-old to exercise such pastimes on a Friday evening? 

p.s. I've nearly finished what used to be the mustard circle from yesterday's post. It turned into a lovely little hat with a cream-colored brim. Needless to say, I'm quite pleased.

A Thursday Sort of Day

I'm thankful today for so many things God is doing in our lives. Even through trials, He sustains and blesses. He gives joy, peace, and love to the point of overflowing. 

Eleven items are now ready to go into my shop. I'm still working on getting the photography to complement and showcase each item just so, but this journey is getting more and more exciting with each passing day...  

I'm debating giving myself a precise deadline. Any other etsy shop owners out there? How did you start off your big day? Did you announce it in advance or just throw the "doors" open all-the-sudden-like?  

In the meantime, I'll be working on this little mustard loveliness? Any guesses as to what it might be? I'm making the pattern up as I go so the end result is still a mystery even to me, but I do have an idea in mind...

Beautiful Relaxation

There are few things cozier than a favorite sweater, a book, some tea, and a bit of crochet... Perhaps I'll get around to doing a bit of sewing now that I have a cute little pin cushion.
