He is here. All eight pounds and three ounces of him. We praise God for a healthy beautiful home birth, for excellent midwife care, and for a quick (though very intense) natural labor of six hours. >
So in love with our little bundle of joy...

It's Wednesday's New Item

This gorgeous hat is the newest addition to my little shop. I'm not sure how I feel about the solemnity of my expression but I was going for a serious and somewhat artsy look. You can view more photos at The Velvetleaf Boutique! 

I still can't get over the soft wonderful texture of yarn. I love working with it and wearing it. And I especially love the timelessness of it. Pretty sure our dear grandmas had it right all along. Crocheting is a delight!

Tis the Season

Decorating for Christmas 2012 at our house happened last night. We were going to skip having a tree this year due to limited space and a tight budget, but then we happened upon this little bargain and couldn't pass up the opportunity... Don't worry. It's not crooked in real life. After we got the tree put up, we sat down and shared a cup of peppermint hot chocolate together. Mmmmm.... all while listening to Christmas music with this delicious scented candle burning in the background. Today I will be making gifts and baking cookies!

Want to know a secret? I don't thoroughly enjoy Christmas baking. It wears me out and the dishes afterward are a nightmare because I have to do them all by hand. But my husband loves freshly baked cookies, so today I will sacrifice a wee bit and bless my man.

New Shop Item - RINGS!

My goal for my shop is to add a new item each Wednesday of every week. At least until the baby arrives. This week's lovely addition? Rings! Beautiful crocheted rings! I have to admit I made one for myself and wear it almost everyday. Such a delightful little pop of cozy color!

Consider Me Blessed

Some incredible friends of mine threw a baby shower for me yesterday afternoon. I cannot say how blessed I felt to be loved on with gifts and beautiful baby boy decorations and delicious food. Not to mention five fabulous hours of girl talk and laughter. 

One friend put together this adorable scrapbook for me. She designed 12 complete pages, one for each month of our son's first year. I can't wait to fill it with cute little photos. Thank you Cherie! The best part is that you can pay her a visit yourself. She has a fun little blog of her own and an amazing shop filled with handmade wooden journals. You'll love them!
