Clothing and Colors

I look in my closet and think I have nothing to wear some days. How can that be? I see this photo and I realize my abundance. This is just half of my closet. Not to mention the two drawers and one shelf also filled with clothes. I don't say this to brag. I think there are some with more than that, but I know there are those with far less. And aside from that, these are just temporal things anyway.

Yes, I am thankful for them. And yes, I love the option and fun of pairing new things together. But if there comes that day when nothing seems cute or fitting, I'm alright with that. God loves me regardless of my beautiful or not beautiful clothing. And I am thankful.

Thankful for my clothes and thankful they are colorful. (Seriously, imagine your closet filled with shades of gray. I love gray but not quite that much!)

Mostly I'm thankful for God's love.

Happy Thanksgiving all.
Bless you,

  2. I love clothes too and struggle with the same thoughts... they don't fit, I don't have enough, I need this 1 more thing... It's a good reminder to be thankful for what we have! Ironically though I have to ask... Is that leather jacket from Urban Outfitters? I have one exactly like it on my Christmas list! =)

  4. It's so easy for me to fall into a consumer mindset and want more/better/newer clothes. I'm planning a big girls event where we do a style swap and repurpose old clothes to fight our "need" to constantly buy!

It's refreshing to recognize all that God has blessed us with! great post!

  6. Just this morning I was talking to my friend. I've seen her closet and have wanted to raid it so many times because she has a lot lot lot of clothes. Anyhow, she was saying how the holiday season is coming up which means more get togethers and more pictures which means she needs more clothes. She blames it on facebook, if facebook wasn't around she would never feel the need to update her wardrobe every few often.

  7. Such a great thing to be thankful for! I've often struggled between wanting to buy new, shiny things and the other half of me that realizes I have more than enough and can't take it all with me.

  8. I know exactly how you feel! I always get bored with my clothes and feel like I have nothing to wear. Usually watching a movie or show with great fashion inspires me to pair my clothes differently and get more excited about my clothes.
