Snowflakes or Stars

I know it's not quite Christmas yet, but our first snow of the season came today putting me in the mood to crochet a festive garland. I figure if I start now it'll be ready when it comes time to decorate the tree.

I always love the first snow. Perfect for snow angels...

What do you think of my husband's crazy color choice? Does it put you in a cheery mood? He insisted that all the other yarn in the yarn aisle was yarn a person could wear. This yarn on the other hand was fit for ornamenting a tree. I do believe I quite agree.

I can't decide if these look like snowflakes or stars. Either way I love how each has a color all its own. Reminds me of people. We're all made in the same image, yet possess unique colorful abilities and gifts.  (And yes, that's my deep thinking for the day).

Now I can't wait for that evergreen scent to flood our living room...

How soon is too soon to go tree shopping? Anyone?

  1. These are so cute! Did you do the crocheting yourself?! My sister taught me how to crochet just enough to start a scarf, but I took a break when I ran out of yarn and now can't remember how in order to finish it! I really want to get it finished before the cold weather comes so I can wear it this winter! I love the color of your yarn too! Good choice!

  2. I can't wait to see your tree with it on! I love decorating for Christmas and a lot of my friends already have their tree up so I don't think it's too early for you to go tree shopping!

  4. I think it is so perfectly festive. You will have lots of choices for decorating with all those beautiful colors. I'm seeing a lot of jewel-toned pinks, purples and blues for Christmas lately. Non-tradish, but cool indeed. Hope you have fun decorating your tree! Love you.

ps. Thanks for the button, sweetie.

  9. Definitely festive colors! I'm all about decorating once Thanksgiving is over. I need to think through whether I want to do anything different at my place (psst...I do!).
