Work With What You Got

I essentially have one simple thought to share today which I already gave away in my title. "Work with what you got!" There always seems to be something we feel we lack in whether it's time, money, talent, intelligence, beauty, possessions, clothing, jewelry, shoes, you name it. But more often than not, we have plenty on-hand to create something fun! And that is what today's outfit post is about. Nothing new or overly fancy. Just me using the things I had on hand to put together something fun to wear. Earrings - Thrifted

Thursday, Verse Day

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, 

after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, 

stablish, strengthen, settle you. 

I Peter 5:10 First and Second Peter are letters of encouragement written to believers. Reminders to stand firm in the faith. This verse especially makes me think of the glory of heaven. In this world we will have trouble. But God has overcome the world. He has conquered death. And He offers us eternal life where we will be perfect, established, strengthened and finally settled. 

Though I believe this verse ultimately speaks of being settled in heaven I do think we will experience earthly parallels of what it describes. For example, we will experience periods of suffering in this life but will be perfected through that suffering, strengthened and eventually settle into a season of rest. All to repeat itself again and again as God refines us and creates in us a desire for an eternity with Him in glory.

Time Together at the Pier

One more month til the baby comes! My hubby and I are soaking up our final moments of just the two of us as we wait to meet our son.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for peace in the present and hope for the future. And a God who loves us!

A Peek at Today

I've really been missing playing the piano. Yesterday we went to a college close by to see if I might be able to slip into a practice room undetected, but alas, they were all locked...  

So as I sit here dreaming about someday owning my own piano again, I will sip my tea and get caught up on all my email correspondence. This photo was taken in Switzerland last summer over a morning tea at our hotel. My cup tonight won't be nearly so deliciously adorned, but it'll be tasty nonetheless.
